And I’m back. Well, actually, its more like I’m out. Due to some very sneaky play calling by bacterial pneumonia, it turns out I will not be returning to Washington University in St. Louis this semester. Never fear! Quick thinking and lots of help from Melanie Osborn in the registrar’s office and I am back in business. I will be taking two to three courses general education courses at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. Since I will not be near my friends, and the only people who bother to read this blog, I plan on updating it so people know what trouble I’ve been brewing while away.
The real highlight of this Spring (besides a vanquishing a crippling pneumonia) is that I will be working with Dr. William Sommers at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Sommers is a very well credentialed educator and administrator, and I will be working with him, Jane Stevenson, and Jenn Hartmyn to work on integrating technology into the classroom and helping schools prepare students for the future. I plan on giving several presentations on the emergence of web applications in education, open source software in education, and the new technologies available for group and community learning paradigms. With any luck there will be some quicktime movies appearing on this site in the near future.
